Health and Safety Support

The Butlin's Health & Safety department within Minehead are currently looking to hire a H&S support team member.  This is an exciting opportunity to join the Health and safety department. This is a maternity cover role.

Key areas of responsibility:

Ensuring the health and safety administration system is kept up to date – weekly board inspections and paperwork audits for all departments
Investigate and complete a full report on all Butlins Minehead claims with the Hemel Support team
Taking statements from witnesses and gathering any paperwork involved in any claims against the resort
Regular site inspections to highlight any hazards that may result in the potential to cause harm
Keeping a daily record of all accidents and incidents and inputting them onto the prime system  
Weekly, monthly, quarterly, 6 monthly, and annual GM checks – Pool diary, prime safety, fire safety
Liaising with external concessions and contractors to ensure all the paperwork is kept up to date and legally compliant
Assist in the management of a claims filing system and report any non-compliances to the H&S manager
Assist the health and safety management team in providing detailed data on any accident trends on resort to prevent any possible accidents/incidents
Assist with department meetings and training as requested
Helping to minimize the rate of accidents and incidents to lower the number of claims made against the resort
Working in conjunction with the H&S Manager to ensure legal compliance towards Arena safety
Complete rotas on SAM as required and holidays for H&S team
Ensure all paperwork in relation to arena concerts is collated and fully up to date and compliant
Any other reasonable request from the H&S manager

The successful applicant will require:
A good standard of IT literacy, attention to detail, communication and negotiation skills, ability to work as a team player and make decisions acting on your own initiative
Ability to organise and prioritise workloads and manage projects
Have the ability and flexibility to work under instruction on any health and safety projects which will include weekend work
attention to detail and the ability to complete paperwork, organise and prioritise a demanding workload and work well under pressure
Always behave professionally, holding the integrity of the department at the forefront of your mind when dealing with confidential or sensitive information
Be self-motivated with a pro-active, problem solving approach to your work
