Nursery Apprentice

Role Information

This role is designed for someone who has a keen interest in learning about the development of children in their early years and willing to undertake an Early Years Level 3 apprenticeship, in partnership with Chichester College. You will be support, trained and coached to carry out the same post as Level 3 Nursery Practitioner and work as part of the team under the direction of the Nursery Manager together to provide safe, high-quality education and care for young children which meets the individual needs of children attending the setting.

Purpose of the role
*To complete your ‘20% off the job training’ towards your apprenticeship each week and to organise time efficiently to be able to manage that yourself
*To complete all case studies and coursework to deadlines given by training provider
*To provide an exciting and wide activity programme. 
*To understand and respect the need for consistency of care
*To assist in providing a safe, supportive, and caring environment to ensure that all aspects of each individual child’s development are given full consideration
*To ensure that clean and hygienic standards are always maintained along with compliance to all Health & Safety policies and procedures
*To be proactive in the process of activity planning, child observation and development records on a regular basis
*To act as a key person for 1-2 children at an appropriate time throughout your apprenticeship
*To be involved in developing and delivering a stimulating and creative atmosphere within the nursery providing a wide activity programme for nursery sessions
*To maintain confidentiality about all issues related to children, their families, and the business
*Keeping all children safe from harm via monitoring and implementing sufficient safeguarding policies
*Working alongside Nursery Leadership Team to achieve excellent standards within the nursery
*To attend relevant training courses and meetings as required
*Working in partnership with families and providers

Typical working hours:  40 hours per week, between Monday – Friday. Four full days and one half day on a permanent contract, paid fortnightly at £9.50 per hour. 

The ideal candidate can demonstrate the following:
* GCSEs or key skills in Maths, English and ICT desirable
* Caring and nurturing attitude towards children
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
